Application Log Files

If you are unable to resolve a problem, you may need to send us the log files so we can identify the source of the issue.

By default, the folders containing the logs are hidden in Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, click View > Show and make sure Hidden Items is checked.

VIM Desktop logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Desktop\Logs\
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.

NOTE: Windows will automatically replace %UserName% with the current user name.

VIM for Revit plugin logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Revit Exporter\Logs\
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.

VIM for 3ds Max logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\3ds Max Importer\Logs\
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.

IFC to VIM converter logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\VIM IFC\Logs\
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.

VIM Enterprise logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\VIM Enterprise\Project Logs
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.

VIM Ultra logs

  1. Copy and paste the path below into the Windows Explorer navigation bar:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\VIM Enterprise\Ultra Logs
  2. Add the contents of the folder to a ZIP file and send them to us.
