You can create VIM files from Autodesk Revit or convert IFC files to VIM files. If you are new to VIM Desktop, you can open one of the provided sample VIM files.
Opening a VIM File
- From the Windows Start menu, open the VIM Desktop application.
- On the Welcome screen, choose one of the following options:
- Click on one of the four sample .vim files at the bottom of the Welcome screen.
- Click Open and then click Your Computer. In the Open VIM File dialog, locate and select a .vim file, and then click Open.
- Click Open and then click a .vim file from the Recent list.
You can also double-click on a .vim file in Windows Explorer to open it directly.
The selected VIM file is opened in VIM Desktop, where you can view the BIM and mesh data, and explore the 3D rendered project.
